About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Detroit, Green Dot Stables offers an inventive take on New American cuisine that delightfully balances creativity with comfort. Specializing in gourmet sliders, this vibrant restaurant and bar dazzles guests with an eclectic menu brimming with bold flavors and inventive combinations. Whether you're craving the savory tenderness of the Corned Beef Slider, the distinct zest of the Korean Slider, or the smoky richness of the Lansing Hot Chicken, each bite here promises a satisfying punch of taste that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

The culinary experience extends beyond sliders with satisfying sides like the creamy Mac & Cheese Parmesan, Mornay and the refreshing Kale Quinoa Salad enlivened with lemon and shallots. Soup lovers will adore the velvety New England Clam Chowder, enhanced by potato, bacon, and a subtle kick of sriracha, or the comforting Chicken Paprikas with Spaetzle, which offers a taste of Eastern European tradition right in Detroit. The fries selection—ranging from truffle & herb to house-made venison chili cheese fries—is a deliciously savory accompaniment that elevates this casual dining experience.

Green Dot Stables’ atmosphere is just as captivating as its menu. The playful horse racing motif adds a unique touch, inviting diners to immerse themselves in an energetic, sports-bar vibe without sacrificing intimacy or style. It’s a perfect spot for a date night, as George Mais shares, “Watching the horse racing was cool and watching the Tigers beat the Yankees was great. The food was amazing. The beers were delicious as well as the cocktails.” The bar boasts a wide array of drinks, from classic cocktails to local favorites, including Leonard’s syrups in their soda offerings—a treat that even devoted Diet Coke fans can appreciate.

Affordability is another standout feature. As Rebecca Krawczak notes, “Each mule was only $4.50!! The sliders were great... The Mac n cheese was also delicious.” This quality-to-price ratio ensures that Green Dot Stables isn’t just a destination for indulgence but also a smart choice for those who want exceptional food without breaking the bank.

Service here rounds out the experience beautifully. Guests report timely, friendly, and attentive staff that enhances the overall dining pleasure. Tiffany Weathersbee’s son summed it up best: “We only had to wait 15 minutes to get our food = Winning!!” The comfortable wait time is a testament to their smooth operation, even during busy hours.

Whether you’re in for a casual lunch, an evening of drinks and sliders, or a cozy dinner date, Green Dot Stables invites you to savor thoughtfully crafted dishes in an environment that’s as lively as it is welcoming. This is Detroit dining with heart, creativity, and a touch of playful sophistication that keeps patrons coming back for more.

I ride by this place and keep saying "I got to check this place out." So two nights in a row this was the dinner date spot. We aren't even into horse racing. (That's the motif of the establishment.) Watching the horse racing was cool and Watching the tigers beat the Yankees was great. The food was amazing. The beers were delicious as well as the cocktails. Highly recommend for a date night.

Loved how cheap this place was. Each mule was only $4.50!! The sliders were great. I loved the Hot Brown (grilled chicken, bacon and cheese) and the Cheeseburger slider the most. The Mac n cheese was also delicious, along with the chicken paprikas soup. I didn’t like their BBQ sauce much on the BBQ slider, but that’s just because it was a little too sour for me. Would totally go back.

Drinks: They have a lot of different alcoholic beverages! For non-alcoholic drinks, they had sodas with Leonard's Syrups (local). As a huge Diet Coke fan, their diet option was so good! Food: We got 5 sliders total. The mystery meat of the day slider was lamb, pickled onions, and some type of sauce. It was just okay, glad we tried something different though! PBJ (waiter recommend we add bacon) was delicious with or without the bacon! Spicy crispy chicken was also good! Would have preferred actual pickles (what's in the description) instead of cucumbers. Still great though! Philly cheesesteak had good flavor and had a generous serving of meat. Last slider was the Fluffer Nutter for dessert (not pictured) and holy moly, it was fantastic! Service: 10/10 Matt was our waiter and he absolutely rocked! Amazingly quick service too! The overall vibe was welcoming and super chill.

Wonderful experience! Unique dining experience, huge variety for anyone’s taste. I ordered the corned beef, falafel, and the Korean. Don’t sleep on the desert, the fried bread pudding was perfection.

So I let my son leave a review today. His thoughts: 4 out of 5 only because the grilled cheese was cheesy, and the PBJ slider had to much peanut butter Fries 9 out of 10. We love this place. Lastly he said we only had to wait 15 minutes to get our food =Winning!!

Such a fun and delicious spot! The sliders are creative, flavorful, and perfect for mixing and matching so you can try a bunch of different ones in one visit. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and quick. The fries and sides are just as tasty, and the prices make it easy to sample a lot without breaking the bank. The casual vibe and friendly service make it a great place to bring friends or just hang out and enjoy good food. Definitely a Detroit must try!

We had vegan sliders and kale salad. The salad was a nice surprise. The sliders were pretty good, but bun-heavy. The fries were good too. It was nice that an NA beer was available. Service was excellent. No complaints. Polite, informative, and fast. Atmosphere was OK. It was pretty dark though, and the music was a bit loud for normal conversation. True to the name, the races are on the TV. All of the TVs.

I haven't been here in years. The food is still great! The prices have increased, but hey the prices have increased everywhere. I spent $13 for a plantbased slider, a tofu slider and the shoe string french fries. I loved the housemate vegan sambal mayo!
